Portishead station – OO gauge layout by David Taylor
It’s good to see a model of WC&PR Portishead. This new model of the terminus station by Portishead resident David Taylor, is based on black & white photos taken during its operation. The station approach, station, water tower and starter signal are modelled as shown in these photos. The hut below the station is probably a signal box. The Nail Factory is a representation in both size and style. Exit from the factory siding is controlled by a GWR goods only signal. The operation is set just before closure of the line in 1940.
This layout has its first public showing at the WC&PR Exhibition in October 2022.
