History:

This loco (a class L) was purchased new (the second on the railway) and was used right up to the closure. It was fitted with disc wheels. It was painted pea green with three colour lining: black-yellow-red-yellow-black (Howard Carey). With age the green became darker. Wheel diameter was 3ft 01/2 in.

Howard Carey has established that after the railway's closure, No. 5 ended its days working at the Westland Aircraft factory in Yeovil during World War 2.
